The challenge

DefShop worked with another retargeter at the onset, but was curious about the possible outcome of a multiple-retargeting campaign. The additional retargeter’s challenge was to provide a significant increase of conversions. Traffic had to come from both desktop and mobile channels, which is crucial to their overall site traffic. The new retargeter was also expected to adjust its system to the client’s specific requirements, as DefShop uses its own custom deduplication system.

After observing positive results with multiple-retargeting campaigns in the Netherlands, DefShop was willing to extend its cooperation to working with a new retargeting provider in other European markets.


The solution

RTB House, thanks to it’s flexible approach, was able to adjust to the existing custom deduplication model based on the client’s tool. By configuring changes on RTB House’s side, DefShop proceeded with the system integration without engaging any additional technical resources. Once data was presented consistently, RTB House implemented high-performing, personalized retargeting campaigns focused on desktop and mobile users.


The result

DefShop was so satisfied with RTB House’s results in the Netherlands that their cooperation extended to other markets — Finland, France and Germany (the top market for DefShop). In one of the most challenging months:

  • RTB House campaigns generated an increase of up to 6% in DefShop sales (depending on the market)
  • RTB House campaigns grew the average conversion rates by 3% (mobile and desktop)
  • 40% of retargeting sales were generated from mobile channels
